Another Picture For History Buffs

This a picture of Fran's oldest son, Robert with his wife, Janet, Stormy and their son Michael.
Robert and his family live in Texas as do all of Francis's children. This is an extremely old picture. The picture to the right is Robert and Janet at Amanda and Wayne's wedding about four years ago.

A Catching Smile

Every time I look at this picture of Marie, I smile. I have only known her for ten years, but I have never seen her smile with pure joy like this photo shows.
When I first met Marie she was 92. She was planting a garden, worked with her flowers whenever the weather was nice and smiled. She had a pleasant smile. Actually the longer I knew Marie the easier it got to " read" her smiles.
There was a smile that said, " I think I could like you." There was a smile that held no humor, it was a smile of tolerance. I got the brunt of that smile the first time Fran took me to her house for Sunday dinner. I asked if I could get the ketchup for her. This with a smile on her face. " You want ketchup on roast beef?" I thought I would stand up to this 4'10" lady and said " yes." She went to the fridge got the ketchup and muttered things she knew I could hear. I wondered to myself how much influence she had on Fran's decision making. I soon found out that same day. I have been interviewed by high powerful CEO's of huge corporations that were easier to be more comfortable with than the grilling she put me through on a one to one interview. Whew, I told Fran she was a tough one!
I asked Fran about this photo of his mom and he said that they were at a Christmas party and that she was having a really good time. That was very apparent.

Aubin Family Reunion 2004

This a reunion portrait that Marie's niece Jeannine hosted in 2004. She sent me this photo on  personal messenger so that I could add it to Marie's Memories. The reunion was held at her niece's summer cottage, in Fairhaven, Ma.
Each family wore a different color t-shirt to represent their family.
Jeannine had a large portrait made of all family members who had passed. She then picked a name for a winner and Charlene's name was picked so she could then take it home. What a nice prize. Charlene Lewis is Marie's niece, her brother Hector's daughter.
The group is really large, whew!
If I had a reunion and the whole family came there would be five of us.  You should be able to enlarge this on your own device. Wonder of wonders, I didn't know anyone. lol Jeannine gave me lots of information on this reunion, but I really would like her to add all the info in the comment section, if she would. She can tell you I'm sure how many attended, where and all that good information. I am going to add this. If I had a family with as much history as this family has I would be really interested in knowing my relatives, even if I had never set eyes on them before.

Aubin Family Portrait

Mr. and Mrs. Aubin
with 5 sons
This picture always amuses me. The first time I saw it I thought, "What?" Marie always always has told me how very strict her father was. When I saw a little girl absolutely looking away from the photographer and her brother looking at her like, " You are really going to catch it." But look at her grin. Who is she and what was she like? And did Marie's father finally give up after umpteen poses and trying to get " the perfect picture." I think this is worth it's weight in gold."

Ok, this is where I need the reader input, names and why and where this portrait was taken. Remember I read and reread these posts to see who, what, and where you are reading from. Thanks so much for making this blog a piece of worth to both the Aubin and Lizotte families.
Note: I have found out many months later, that the little girl that wasn't paying attention was indeed her younger sister, Pauline. Such fun.

Marie With Rhonda

Rhonda's grandsons JJ and Orion

Marie is never happier than she is when she is surrounded with her family. This photo is taken with her son Francis's daughter, Rhonda and her two daughters, Elizabethan and Jennifer. The fun part about this photo is that she wears the top she has on her over a decade ago at least once a week now.
Great Great grandsons!
There are pictures of Marie's granddaughter, Rhonda and her grandchildren. They were taken on her 99th birthday. I had a five generation picture taken that day and not a single one of them had everyone's eyes open. Unbelievable. Actually the baby did have his eyes open, but had a hat that was more interesting than having his picture taken. Rhonda's daughters, Elizabethan (the mama) and Jennifer are holding the hat baby. I just sold the gate that we got for him for that visit. It was fun as always.

Family Reunion

Yesterday I was looking for more clothes for Marie and found some treasures you may enjoy. This is an invitation to a reunion of the Aubins in 1998. Kathie, Marie's niece had sent her this and a blank invitation which had blanks to fill in for who and how many would be attending. I have heard a lot about this reunion from another niece, Jeannine. who did attend and had a ball. She sent me pictures and it was overwhelming to me. They seem to think it is time for another family reunion!

The Christmas Cactus

This morning started off a bit dicey, but when Marie settled in with her favorite meal, she was a delight to visit with.
I wrote,  on her dry erase board:"today is the day for castor oil for the Christmas Cactus." She spit out her orange juice and laughed. Well, I thought it was serious business. Marie had us buy Castor Oil for her about two years ago. I refused to buy it but Fran said, "If mom ordered it, we buy it." I had some choice words about it but we did put a bottle of it in the shopping cart.
We had a discussion about it when we got back with the groceries. Oh she laughed. "You thought I was going to drink this didn't you?" When I nodded, "yes" she proceeded to tell me that after the cactus quits blooming, you give it (she measured with her fingers 2 "). When she had laughed and spit out her orange juice, I began to wonder if she had been pulling a joke on me. So of course, I Googled it. Yup a Pinterest lady said one teaspoon in September. Oh brother, now what? So this is what I did. One tablespoon with two small glasses of water and we will see what happens.
Her granddaughter, Tina Lizotte has taken slips/starts of her Christmas Cactus and told me that they are doing well.  Another legacy.
March 2019 Marie's Christmas cactus which I paid, seventy nine cents for many years ago is still blooming. Not a lot of blooms the first year since she passed, but enough to make me smile. It sits right here by my computer so I think of her every day.
